Harry Crane specializes in prediction markets, politics, and sports analytics, and provides expert witness and regulatory advising on matters involving the use and application of technology and data in the law.
Harry has published over 50 articles and 1 book on probability, statistics, and machine learning. His work has been featured in the Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, National Review, Fox Business, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, BBC, The Atlantic, Fortune. He has been interviewed on CNN, Smerconish, FoxNews, Fox New York, and has appeared on numerous leading podcasts in the areas of analytics, prediction markets, and political analysis. He has presented before the Senate Agriculture Committee on regulatory matters relating to data and prediction markets.
Harry is a Professor of Statistics and Affiliated Faculty in the Graduate Program in Philosophy at Rutgers University. He has also been a Chancellor's Excellence Scholar at Rutgers, Fellow at the London Mathematical Laboratory, a Visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley, and has consulted on counterterrorism and foreign policy at the RAND Corporation and Foreign Policy Research Institute. He is co-founder of the Researchers.One, a 501(c)3 non-profit publishing platform, and co-founder and lead instructor at Analytics.Bet, an initiative for sports analytics and prediction markets education.
Harry Crane has a PhD in Statistics from the University of Chicago and a BA in Mathematics, Economics, and Actuarial Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
